So much has changed recently at the Brow—current editors, current books, current projects—that it’s nice to remember that some things don’t change. Namely: once we’ve released an issue of our flagship quarterly attack journal in print, and three instalments of the same issue in digital form will swiftly follow.
Ergo – the first digital instalment of TLB31 has just gone live!We earn every issue of our print magazine available to read digitally (via the web or our free-to-download iOS app),splitting each issue into three instalments. We do this because the work we publish is first and foremost intended for the printed page, and to shovel it all into one single digital issue would be foolish.
We know that some folks can’t score their hands on a print copy easily, and simply just prefer to read on their handheld device, and so we work to ensure the digital reading experience is also a special one.
So, what’s inside that tender cover by the phenomenally talented Lee Lai? Excellent work by excellent people: an excerpt from The Island Will Sink by Briohny Doyle; nonfiction from Dion Kagan and Wendy C. Ortiz; an interview with Ann Goldstein, and the translator of Ellena Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels,by Melinda Harvey; artwork by Soft Science and Lala Albert; comics by Tommi PG and Daryl Seitchik; an Advice Comic from Jini Maxwell; poetry by Fatimah Asgar; and the Law School sex advice column from Benjamin Law and his mother, Jenny Phang.
