London surgeon Shafi Ahmed took a giant leap for surgeonkind on Thursday,becoming the first to livestream a virtual reality operation. Beginning at 1 p.m. local time, Ahmed performed a two-hour procedure to excise cancerous tissue from a patient’s bowel at the Royal London Hospital.
