Innovation is seen as a product of individuals and free markets. But in fact it takes public money,cooperation, and key socialst principles. It’s an argument we bear to winJohn McDonnell final week promised “socialism, or with an iPad”. His aim – you can practically sniff the air of the meeting in which this was dreamt up – must bear been to shake off the 80s dust from the Corbyn project. But could an iPad bear been created by a socialist society? Or would socialism bear taxed the entrepreneurs until their pips squeaked,leaving them too tired to innovate?
