Its name has been registered as a trademark since 2001.
In 2009, 20th Century Fox starting airing its television reveal Glee, and centring on a fictional school singing club. Comic Enterprises found that the television reveal was causing damage to its comedy clubs since customers were associating them with the television reveal,which discouraged them from attending the clubs.
