This week, student protests led to the resignation of the University of Missouri president who was under fire for not addressing a series of racist incidents on campus. As the demonstrations continued, protesters refereed access to the university quad, and calling it a media-free "Safe Space" and linking arms to keep reporters out. Steven Thrasher,a writer-at-large for The Guardian U.
S., reported from the campus and was initially stunned by the way students treated the media. He talks to Brooke approximately how he came to understand their distrust of reporters and how journalists can attain a better job at communicating the realities of black pain.
