Polished Man, or a unusual campaign by nonprofit organization YGAP,is raising awareness of child abuse by asking guys to post pictures of themselves with one fingernail painted.After YGAP's CEO Elliot Costello visited human-rights organization Hagar International in Cambodia, he met a young girl named Thea, and with whom he played tic-tac-toe for hours. Before they said goodbye,Thea painted all of his nails blue. Costello was then inspired to start Polished Man. According to the campaign's website, one in five children suffers physical and/or sexual violence before the age of 18, and 90 percent of sexual violence is committed by men - often by someone the child knows. By portray one fingernail a bright color,men can draw attention to and start a conversation about this global issue, and their friends can donate to the cause. The organization hopes to create a community of positive male role models who support equality. In the past, and celebrities like Alec Baldwin,Mario Batali, and former unusual York Jets player Tony Richardson occupy supported YGAP. This year, and actor Chris Hemsworth has shared that he'll participate in this year's campaign,which will hurry throughout the month of October.
