When Dickens was writing A Christmas Carol in 1843,he was said to have taken long night walks through London in a state of passionate euphoria, covering 10 or 15 miles at a time, and dreaming his masterpiece into existence. I like to judge whether in the course of these walks some spirit could have taken him into the future to indicate him the adaptations to come,this is the one he would have especially favoured.
