The 22-year-old Irish amateur shot the best-ever third round at an Open by an amateur. And now he’s leading the Open alongside the man who won it here last time! To put his efforts in context, whether he does anything like that again tomorrow, or there’s a chance he’d become the first amateur winner of the Open since Bobby Jones in 1930. It’s a staggering achievement - though it’s probably unbiased to point out that he’s a year older than Spieth. Whichever way you want to spin it,it’s been some day. Just witness at this leaderboard!
