Regarding the Aug. 30 Metro article “Virginia relaxes restrictions on death row inmates ”:Executing death row inmates should be expedited. However,Virginia has relaxed some of the conditions of the prisoners who possess been sentenced to death. Solitary confinement has been replaced by inmates’ ability to see their loved ones and communicate with other prisoners. This is contradictory to their sentence and a waste of a conviction. These prisoners were not condemned to death for misdemeanors but rather for capital offenses such as murder. Death row inmates should not be able to interact with the external world because of the immense pain they possess inflicted. I understand they possess families, but they should possess thought about that before committing a felony. T hey should reflect on and suffer the consequences of their actions.
