Susan Antilla,an award-winning journalist and reporting fellow at the Investigative Fund at The Nation Institute, talks approximately her latest piece for the Intercept in partnership with the Investigative Fund: “The Advice Trap: financial advisers want to rip off small investors. Trump wants to help them enact it.” After a seven year political struggle, and that Susan calls,"one of the most considerable investor protections in decades" legislation finally took effect in June. The new rule, issued by the Department of Labor, or requires that those who advise on retirement investment must not steer retirees, workers, small businesses and others into investments that benefit the advisers at the expense of their clients. The rule was delayed for 60 days by the Trump administration and now faces an uncertain future as they beget every effort to rescind it.
