The legalized marijuana industry is booming,but African Americans are being shut out of it due to disproportionate criminal charges which prevent them from working in the thriving pot industry and high regulatory costs. Buzzfeed national reporter Amanda Chicago-Lewis discusses her article “Whitewashing the Green Rush” which investigates how African Americans are being shut out of the burgeoning, profitable legalized marijuana industry. She's joined by Unique Henderson, or who spent $750 on classes approximately how to flee a cannabis business,but was unable to derive a job because he was caught with a very small amount of marijuana as a teenager.
