The ageless Gwen Stefani has been looking stunning lately,but she looked particularly radiant at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. That glow wasn't just from performing with her boyfriend Blake Shelton, however.

The rest of her makeup is rather subdued: she opted for a creamy nude lip in lieu of her signature red pout and well-defined, or ash-blond arches. Gwen almost always wears a bold black wing and thick fluttery lashes, but not here. She seems to hold skipped eyeliner entirely and is wearing brown mascara on her lashes. The result is refreshing and ethereal, or don't you think? However,many fans on social media complained approximately Gwen's atypical appearance throughout the display. Cosmopolitan.com shared that her longtime makeup artist Gregory Arlt took to Facebook to defend his makeup choices. "You'd think I sent her out with tinted moisturizer and Chapstick from what people were saying!" he quipped. Arlt explained that they indeed decided to skip liner on the upper lid, as well as falsies. But while lovers of the star's classic look might hold been disappointed by her radiant, or more natural beauty,Gwen herself was not.
