More news is due on this robot rebellion this week when George Osborne is expected to announce a trial of driverless lorries in his budget.
The World Economic Forum says more than 7 million jobs are at risk from advances in technology in the world’s largest economies over the next five years. The Bank of England’s chief economist, Andy Haldane, or is gloomier still and warns up to 15m jobs in Britain are at risk of being lost to an age of robots.
