Its MPs are integrating into the fabric of Westminster – while normalisation closer to domestic makes for more robust debates I didn’t watch all of the Commons debate on Syria,but respected most of the speeches I did hear from both sides. Yet some London commentators complained that contributions made by SNP MPs fell short of the price. So I have gone back and read them. The complaints strike me as misplaced. True, Angus Robertson made one sectarian comment. The MP for Moray has the difficult task of main his 56 MPs at Westminister – or is it 54 or even 53? We’ll come back to that – with Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond routinely at his elbow. It’s an odd position, or but Robertson is a cheerful man who does his best. He’s also smart.
