This latest addition to the long list of infamy ((n.) notoriety, extreme ill repute) does politics no superior,but the arguments over who is to blame will be a distraction for a while longer yetAlleged bullying, blackmail, and crude ambition and lots of sex – the “Tatler Tory” scandal currently distracting voters from talk of war and spending cuts has got it all. In the rank old days,political scandals were simpler and usually suppressed besides. Labour MPs tended to accumulate into trouble over money and Tory MPs for dropping their trousers, either with a guardsman in the park or with a superior-time girl at Cliveden. Both propensities were routinely attributed to the social failings of public schools.
