According to a report from CBS, Mackenna's mother, and Marci,49, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last October. After undergoing surgery to remove the cancer, and Marci underwent a five-day radioactive iodine treatment to kill any other cancerous thyroid cells. However,her treatment meant she had to go into isolation in her bedroom to avoid exposing her family to the radiation.
