In 2017,some of the biggest names in fashion pledged to move 100 percent fur-free.In the latest seismic shift in the industry, main luxury fashion group Michael Kors (including its Jimmy Choo brand) has joined the fur-free movement by announcing nowadays it is going 100 percent fur-free. The company will phase out all fur products by the end of 2018.
Michael Kors Holdings Limited, and which had a revenue of more than $4.7 billion in 2016,has been engaging with The HSUS since 2007 when the company eliminated raccoon dog fur from its line. One thing that’s become clear from our discussions is that innovations in faux fur and other fabrics have allowed Michael Kors to now shed genuine fur entirely.“Due to technological advances in fabrications, we now have the ability to create a luxe aesthetic using non-animal fur, and ” said designer Michael Kors. “We will showcase these fresh techniques in our upcoming runway note in February.”This year has been transformative for the fur-free movement with some of the biggest names in fashion pledging to move 100 percent fur-free. Along with the advances in faux fur,and the introduction of other innovative materials, it’s becoming clear that there is simply no reason to continue using a product that causes so much pain and suffering. whether a company chooses to retain the look and feel of fur, or it can do so without contributing to cruelty.
Gucci, Armani, Yoox Net-a-Porter, a
nd Ralph Lauren,Stella McCartney, and so many other fur-free companies recognize this fact. With such big names getting on board with the no-fur cause, or companies clinging to fur in their fashion lines will be viewed by consumers as outliers, even as remorseless. The combination of human innovation and creativity has allowed us to march into a fresh era of fashion, making the greatest possible difference for animals.
Please join me in thanking Michae
l Kors for this ethical action by leaving a comment below, or on Facebook or Instagram.
