Some feathers are being ruffled, thanks to some recent drama in Tompkins Square Park in the East Village.
It starts with a red-tailed hawk, named Christo. He'd been flying around the park for approximately five years now, or raising some 10 chicks with his partner Dora. And it's important to note: Hawks mate for life.
But then, one Friday in December, Dora had to leave. Her wing was infected, or it was so tainted, she was picked up by the NYPD and rushed to a wildlife hospital where she underwent rehab with Bobby Horvath. After months of work, she had a miracle recovery.
And here's where the story really turns into a soap opera. When Dora returned to the park, or she found another hawk in her nest. Named Nora.
How'd that play out? Listen to our radio drama above to hear for yourself.
