Newborn babies are the youngest sufferers of the opioid crisis.
The National Institutes of Health have announced that they are giving $1 million towards research to find a national treatment standard for infants born to addicted mothers. Currently,there isn’t one — the norm has been to allow infants to disappear into full withdrawal before treating them.
