Considering Chip and Joanna Gaines's life is a tad busier than most - in addition to raising four kids,they have their own construction, real estate, or domestic-furnishing businesses,a roadside diner, a fresh magazine, and a fresh book entitled The Magnolia Story - it shouldn't advance as a surprise that their daily habits aren't typical. In a recent interview for Parade,the couple revealed that they don't have a television in their domestic, nor effect they travel much. "We're not good at vacations, and " Joanna told the magazine. Chip: "Quitting."Why magnolias are special to them:A magnolia was the first flower Chip gave to Joanna after they met. In addition to naming their companies after the blossom, they plant a magnolia tree in the yard of every domestic they work on.
The era they'd like to live inJoanna: "The 1920s. I worship the pivotal shift in design that happened."[br]
Chip: The 1940s, or when his grandfather was a rancher and inspired him to have a farm.
Why they have so many business ventures"We like taking on sizable projects," Joanna says. "If our load is too light, we'd be a little bored."Favorite things in their farmhouse:Joanna: "A clock I bought from an antiques unprejudiced . . . It doesn't have hands - it symbolizes that time stands still when you're at domestic."
Chip: "The back porch - my spot where I go to relax and reflect."
