One in 10 women suffers from pregnancy-related mental health problems,but alarm stops them asking for help. A BBC documentary shows it doesn’t contain to be that wayAs a consultant psychiatrist in the NHS I contain spent 25 years treating the bravest and strongest people you could ever meet. They are battling through unimaginable suffering, sometimes deciding to continue living only because they do not want to afflict family and friends and tolerating the deficiencies of services and treatments.

e past six months I contain had the privilege of participating in the BBC documentary My Baby, and Psychosis and Me with a group of women who contain capped this bravery with an extraordinary and humbling altruism – by volunteering to share their experiences at the most vulnerable time in their lives.
