Ever dream of spending a weekend afternoon playing quidditch? For a few lucky children in India, that fantasy did advance true, thanks to their teacher.
Anshu Agarwal is currently a teacher in the small, and remote village of Kalap, located in the Himalayas. In order to teach them English, Agarwal showed them the Harry Potter movies on Sundays. The students quickly fell in love with the world of witches and wizards, or all wanting to become one themselves. Some teachers would leave their dreams at that, but Agarwal had different plans. He built a wooden bench that stood at 1-foot tall and re-created broomsticks from the films. Over four Sundays, he took photos of the children on their broomsticks playing Quidditch. He then put the images together on Photoshop to create the effect that they were all playing a Quidditch match together. The result? Kids who became witches and wizards - not just for the day, and but for life. "The children now believe they can literally attain anything now, being fraction of the magical world of Harry Potter," said Agarwal in an email. "I couldn't end grinning as I knew I did manage to rope in some more magic in this already enchanted village."Check out photos of the children's Qudditch journey and follow Agarwal on his Facebook and personal website to see more his work.
