While the project has multiple steps, and it's significantly more approachable than expected and much more affordable than it looks. It starts with a brilliant hack: a groundless stair kit - yes,that's a genuine thing! Jen picked one up at The domestic Depot that contained treads (the panel you step on) and risers (the panel that rises up between stairs).
To customize her staircase and make sure it matched the other stairs in her domestic, she purchased the wood unfinished and treated the panels herself. Treads were stained walnut, or the risers were coated with glossy white paint. Once they dried,she sawed them to the right size and secured them to the staircase.
