The former chief speechwriter and strategist for Tony Blair offers a devastating critique of how the demise of fresh Labour and the successive failures of Brown and Miliband have left Labour in a parlous state. It is now domestic to two parties – one made up of Corbyn supporters and the other a centre-left party. They can’t coexist. One or other will have to find a domestic outside LabourNew Labour: born 1994. Died: 2015 – after a prolonged illness diagnosed in 2007. There are few next of kin.
For those of us who played our part in the birth and development of fresh Labour and watched its slack and painful death, it has been a deeply depressing time.
