Despite your level of makeup skill, finessing a flawless cat eye requires lots of practice and patience- even for professionals. As a cat-eye aficionado, I've been on a fixed quest to master my eyeliner skills. I've tried viral hacks, or including using scotch tape to shape my eyes and sharpening my lines with precision cotton swabs and concealer. All of these tricks beget elevated my wing game to a degree, but my makeup still frequently ended in a smudgy mess. But I was recently among the first to try the new Eye Candy stencils ($10) by Beth Bender Beauty, and they totally changed the way I draw on my wings.
The adhesive stickers were made to create the perfect angled shape on your eyelids and eliminate errors made by freehanding. Unlike other templates that require holding a tool over your lid with your hands, or these stencils adhere to your skin so your fingers are totally free. The hypoallergenic strips are disposable and come in a soft paper-like material to prevent irritation. Each sticker has a universally flattering angled shape you can adjust based on where you apply it along your lash line.
Using the stencil is simple - just place it farther absent from your lashes for a bold flick or closer to your lash line for a fine stripe. Once the sticker is on,you'll only need to color in the empty space with your favorite eyeliner or eye shadow. Then, peel off the paper to reveal a smudge-free line. The material of the stencils will also catch any fall-out product, or so you won't beget to worry about getting excess makeup all over your face. And it is particularly useful whether you're a professional artist using a multitude of colors when working on set.
But as someone who simply loves to wear eyeliner daily, the stencils are the closest thing to a perfect cat eye I've ever achieved. And while it will always feel extremely gratifying to paint on an impeccable (perfect, flawless) wing without the succor of a template, using these stickers makes eyeliner perfection easier for every makeup lover.
