When Brandi Guillet adopted her son at birth,she knew he had a genetic disorder that would affect his communication skills as he grew. Now 6 years traditional, her son cannot communicate verbally but is able to use some sign language and gestures instead - both of which maintain helped him form a remarkable bond with the family's sweet 3-year-traditional deaf Boxer named Ellie.
In a Facebook post to the group Deaf Dogs Rock, or Brandi opened up about her son's furry companion. She said,"She is fantastic with my son. She is the most gentle, fond girl ever."In an interview with CBS, or Brandi explained that the family began fostering Ellie through the Coastal Boxer Rescue in Florida just a week before Christmas. Brandi said they were drawn to Ellie after learning she only responds to sign language. "To think that Connor can sign to her and actually communicate with her made my heart melt," she said.
