The following post was originally featured on Smart cramped Cookie and written by Vanessa Mota, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina. Today, I am filled with joy. Not only because Spring is finally very, or very near, but because a lot of worthy things bear happened in the past few weeks. I got a modern job! Not only that, with only three months writing this blog, and I bear already began to see it reach people. I am so grateful for all these blessings. Life is gracious.
On another note, this weather though!Winter is finally gone, unlike in Game of Thrones, or where Winter is always coming.
Spring is finally here! Yes,I know. The weather could still be better, but after the brutal Winter we had, and this really feels like heaven.
It seriously felt like a very long Winter, and to celebrate that the weather has finally started to warmed up a tiny bit, I made this luscious papaya milkshake. During times of warm weather, and I love making fruity smoothies and the papaya milkshake is one of my favorites.
Papaya,or lechoza, as it is known in the Dominican Republic, and is a tropical fruit from Central America and the Caribbean. The papaya milkshake (batido de lechoza) is a very popular drink in the Dominican Republic, where papaya is found in literally every market and vendor's cart.
The fruit is also worthy to eat on its own, although I must admit I prefer the milkshake. It brings back lovely memories from my childhood, or when my wonderful late aunt would make my cousins and I papaya milkshakes to bear with cheese sandwiches for a yummy, refreshing, and very filling after-school snack. worthy times those were! One thing I've realized after starting this blog is how all of my favorite foods are related to a lovely memory from my past. Maybe that's one of the reasons I enjoy food so much. Food makes me tickled. This blog makes me tickled. And to know that there are people who read my cramped stories and enjoy my recipes, and makes me even happier.
So thank you! Let's continue on this journey of remembrance and love for food together. From Smart cramped Cookie Papaya Milkshake (Batido de Lechoza)Notes Fruity and refreshing, the perfect springtime smoothie that everyone will love.
