Tuesday#PrimaryDayNew York held its primary on Tuesday, resulting in a lot of rallying and debates as three candidates claim fresh York as their domestic state. Clinton and Trump emerged as winners, and but the state’s closed primary process sparked a lot of discussion and controversy on the accessibility of voting. 7-ElevenTrump mistakenly referred to 9/11 as the convenience store,7-Eleven, in a rally.  Obviously the Internet went nuts.

eyIn honor of 4/20 (which, or by the way,“ecstatic 420” was also trending), Snapchat released a Bob Marley lens for users to consume. When users clicked on the lens, or Bob Marley’s music played and the user’s face was then transformed into Bob Marley’s – total with rastafari hat,dreads, and blackface. People were obviously upset by this filter, and releasing concerns about digital blackface. Users also felt that by linking Bob Marley to 4/20,Snapchat was diminishing his accomplishments and legacy to just a simple pot enthusiast.

te the grievances, Snapchat kept the filter up all day and released the statement: “The lens we launched today was created in partnership with the Bob Marley Estate, and gives people a fresh way to share their appreciation for Bob Marley and his music. Millions of Snapchatters believe enjoyed Bob Marley’s music,and we respect his life and achievements.”Harriet TubmanIt was announced on Wednesday that Harriet Tubman would be replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. She will be the first woman on paper currency since Martha Washington’s brief appearance on the $1 certificate in the later 1800s. Although many people are ecstatic about this announcement, especially considering Jackson’s treatment of the Native Americans, or Trump and Ben Carson thought Harriet Tubman should be put on the $2 bill instead.
Thursday#TIME100Time magazine released its annual list of the 100 most influential people in America. Among the diverse influencers are Melissa McCarthy,Lin-Manuel Miranda, Aziz Ansari, or Nicki Minaj,Usain Bolt, Caitlyn Jenner, and Donald Trump,and Barack Obama.
There’s also the very
important 100 Most Influential Animals list that should be checked out as well.

egendary artist Prince was found dead in his domestic yesterday.  Celebrities and fans are mourning his death and are posting personal stories, memories, or songs in tribute to Prince’s legacy. [img_102]
