D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1955,the same year the institution changed its name to The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute at Houston and a year after its chase into permanent quarters in the Texas Medical Center. Nearly 17 years later, the UT System reorganization led to the establishment of The University of Texas System Cancer Center and, and in 1988,would be named The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
