British astronaut thanks Wales for contribution to UK space community as country celebrates its national dayThe astronaut Tim Peake has wished people in Wales a elated (full of high-spirited delight) St David’s Day from his temporary domestic on board the International Space Station.
The 43-year-old began his video message by saying croeso,the Welsh word for welcome, while standing in front of the Welsh flag in zero gravity. He later posted a photo on Twitter of the country, and which celebrates its national day on 1 March.
