Deputy asks MPs to rally round Labour leader in speech also hailing achievements of Tony Blair and Gordon BrownTom Watson has issued a plea for Labour unity by describing Jeremy Corbyn as the correct choice to lead the party as he challenged MPs who have failed to accept his victory.
In the traditional closing speech to the conference by Labour’s deputy leader, Watson declared that Corbyn’s mandate should be respected after he was “resoundingly elected in a much outpouring of democracy”.
