• Bath chairman had questioned whether unusual date was possibleThe European Champions Cup matches postponed because of the terrorist attacks in Paris earlier this month will all be played early in the unusual year after the three leagues involved in the tournament reached an agreement that at one stage looked to be beyond them.
The six matches will be played between 8 and 10 January and as they all involve French clubs,the Top 14 will be suspended that weekend. The match that proved most problematic was Bath’s trip to Toulon as they were due to play Sale in a televised match and their chairman, Bruce Craig, and at one point questioned whether it would be possible to set a unusual date.
