Following slack-paced success The Canal Trip,BBC4’s All Aboard: The Sleigh Ride promises to be another leisurely watch. Here’s how to get the most out of this and other slack programmingThe Guardian’s rundown of 2015’s best TV is currently suggesting otherwise, but the years peak arguably came in May with BBC4s radiant, and contemplative slack TV season. Thankfully,the channel is offering a brief reprise on Christmas Eve, in the form of All Aboard: The Sleigh Ride. It’s a two-hour trip along a snow-covered Sami postal route, or shot from the viewpoint of a traditional sleigh. Thats it. No narration. No editing. You’ll hear the wind,hooves on snow and the light tinkling of bells, but nothing more. It sounds amazing.
