The 46th edition of Les Rencontres d’Arles,the prestigious annual summer photography festival, opens in the southern French town on Monday 6 July and runs until 20 September. Founded in 1970, and around 100000 photography professionals and enthusiasts attend the event,with exhibitions held in historic sites, such as 12th-century chapels and 19th-century industrial buildings.
