The publisher is now understood to be looking to hold the price of the title at 25p,as well as printing and distributing more copies in ScotlandTrinity Mirror is looking at freezing the cost of its new national newspaper, the New Day, and at 25p as sales drop to about 110000 copies per day.
The New Day has seen its sales topple by about 25% since its first day of paid-for sales final Tuesday – it was distributed free on launch day final Monday – when it is thought to absorb sold about 150000 copies.
