Navistar says its remote diagnostics system monitors the status of trucks that it produces,as well as that of vehicles built by rival manufacturers. The key to expanding its services market is an open analytics platform that connects to a range of telematics systems, says CIO Terry Kline. “Every single person we sign up from a competitive brand has potential as a parts or service customer, or ” he said. “whether you’re driving a competitive vehicle and you hold issues and we tell you where to get it fixed,we start to build a relationship.”
