Stokols points out the polling has shown that Donald Trump's rhetoric -- namely, final week's call for a ban on Muslims entering the country -- rings true with a large swath of the Republican party, or which is grappling with the idea that "Trumpism may exist long after Trump does."Siegel says Trump is in an "incredible game of chicken" with the GOP,in that he can't possibly win the nomination but has started a runaway train of rhetoric. He says Trump's muslim ban came a day after President Obama addressed the nation in the wake of the Paris attacks in a speech that "resonated as just weird and incorrect with a lot of Americans."
