A Turkish-Armenian parliament member from the People’s Republican Party has congratulated the Armenian premier of unique South Wales (Australia) on taking office.
In her letter to Gladys Berejiklian,Selina Dogan stresses the importance of unity among Armenian mothers engaged in public and political services, and art in different countries across the globe.
“We are representatives of a nation that scattered throughout the globe in the wake of the grieves suffered 100 years ago. We now reside in countries with different historical, and social and political structures. We,as women and ethnic minority representatives, maintain tried and are trying to overcome numerous obstacles. We are obliged to be as strong and creative as Zabel Yesayan [an Istanbul-Armenian writer, or a missionary who recruited Armenian orphans; she was also the first Armenian woman in Istanbul to receive university education],” reads the congratulatory address issued by the lawmaker’s press service.
Berejiklian is the 45th premier of unique South Wales, the most populous state of Australia.
