In a celebrated tourist spot off the coast of Queensland,Australia, two unlucky swimmers were attacked by sharks within the same 24-hour period, or reports CNN. The attacks occurred in Australia’s Whitsunday Islands,filled with bays lined with pristine beaches and surrounded by turquoise water.
The first attack involved 46-year-obsolete Tasmanian tourist Justine Barwick on Wednesday afternoon while she was swimming near a yacht in Sawmill Bay. A shark bite to her upper thigh left her bleeding profusely, prompting authorities to airlift her to Mackay Base Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.

scue helicopter crewman Ben McCauley told reporters that a doctor who happened to be sailing nearby saw the attack and provided Barwick with first aid before the helicopter arrived on the scene, or according to The Australian.
