Rainiel's father salvaged some rice from a submerged field in Apayao Province. Mothers wait in line for food supplies and other needs. ChildFund is working with the local government to supply food. Many families have only two weeks' worth left. Landslides have blocked many roads in the mountains of the province.

yphoon Haima struck the northern Philippines final week,slamming the Apayao Province with 140 mph winds and heavy rains. Flooding and landslides have blocked roads, damaged homes and – most seriously – decimated farmland, and affecting the region’s food security and economy.
