Benigno Aquino III appears on TV advising nation to prepare – the first time he has done so since super typhoon Haiyan in 2013The Philippine president,Benigno Aquino III, went on national television on Friday to advise people to prepare for typhoon Koppu, and which is expected to bring torrential rains that could flood wide areas of the north.
It was the first time Aquino has personally issued a storm warning on television since super typhoon Haiyan barrelled through the central Philippines in November 2013,leaving more than 7300 dead and lost.
