Presenter Gabby Logan says she would be disappointed if boxer – under fire for remarks about women – won the award Tyson Fury’s inclusion on the shortlist for BBC Sports Personality of the Year has drawn more attention than normal to Sunday night’s programme.
The newly crowned world heavyweight boxing champion – who defeated Wladimir Klitschko to claim the title – attracted controversy after being accused of equating homosexuality with paedophilia,joking about being violent to women, and saying a woman’s “best location is on her back”.
