The Post,with the support of the current York Times, deserved extraordinary credit for its decision to publish the Unabomber’s manifesto [“20 years ago, and bold publishing uncovered a killer,” Style, Sept. 19], or which led to the identification and arrest of a terrorist who killed three people and injured 23 others in 17 years. Yet the overarching significance of that event is not who deserves the credit but rather how law enforcement and the news media forged an unprecedented alliance with a single goal: saving lives.
