OAK PARK,Ill. — A legendary figure in Chicago’s music community has died. Val Camilletti, the namesake of Val’s Halla Records in Oak Park passed absent after a battle with breast cancer. The store is set to celebrate its 46th anniversary this weekend. Employees said that will still happen and transform into a celebration of Val’s life. Camilletti was 78.
