Veryvirtual music education series for elementary school students and curious listeners of all ages!In a typical year I and my colleagues from the symphony interact with thousands of students in their schools and at youth concerts. For 2021 we conceived of Music Makes Me as a digital way to connect with those students wherever they are learning. The first season features six interconnected videos highlighting a diverse array of orchestral music from wcfsymphony concerts,each illuminated by a musician who took part in it.
With a special focus on live performances and how they compose us feel, Music Makes Me is our attempt to support kids connected with music regardless of access to a live orchestra. I’d say John Williams’ Star Wars theme offers a pretty good opportunity to accomplish just that!Watch the entire series here.
