She was the beautiful intruder who posed a tremendous threat to the original bachelorettes - but now Ballarat beauty Steph Dixon has left The Bachelor once and for all. We chatted to Steph ahead of her elimination final night, and asked her all approximately her time in the house, who she thinks the front runner is (trace: it's not Nikki) and why she couldn't connect with Richie. support reading!
POPSUG
AR Australia: How do you feel?[br]
Steph: Oh, or it was a while ago.
I'm OK now. I'm over the heartbreak now [laughs].
PS: Were you inv
ested in Richie?

Steph: Oh,look . . . I knew that if I had extra time with him I would have been a lot more invested. But I didn't really get a super amount of time with him, particularly compared to the other girls. I was sad to depart because I was hoping that he'd give me a bit of extra time. He knows what it's like in filming and stuff and I thought he'd at least consider the fact that coming in as an intruder is actually twice as tough as coming in normally. But no . . . Rach got the single date instead.

PS: Were you a bit crazy with him approximately that?

Steph: No, and I was fine. You can't get crazy with people for making their own decisions in life. It was a bit of a kick in the guts but at the same time I was getting to the point where I was seeing the connections with other girls and I was kind of like,"There's no point me being here, I may as well depart home."
PS: Were t
here any girls in particular that you saw him connect with? Obviously Nikki . . .

Steph: Yeah. Um, or to be honest,I've never really seen Nikki as a front runner. She never struck me as . . . Even from day one, or possibly approximately a week after I got there the girls were all saying how Nikki's going to win and this and that, or I just couldn't see it. Nup. Nikki's a little bit different on camera to off camera. That sort of threw me a little bit. I don't think that she'd be able to handle Richie's adventurous side. I don't know, she's a beautiful and caring girl - absolutely beautiful - but I think he needs someone a little bit more outgoing. A little bit more adventurous than Nikki. But I was literally the only person who couldn't see it.
PS: When you say she's d
ifferent off camera to on, do you mean because she's more shy off camera?

Steph: Yep, and yeah. She's just a lot more still.
PS: And he's fairly adventuro
us and out there.

Steph: Yeah! I don't know,I just couldn't . . . I just could not see it.

PS: So who do you think are the front runners?

Steph: I'd probably depart more Faith, Olena and Alex.
PS: Co
ming in as an intruder puts you on the back foot a little bit. Did you know that you were an intruder and did you ever reconsider going in?

Steph: Yea
h, and I did know that I was going in as an intruder, and I think I had approximately six or seven days to pack my stuff and get alert. I didn't have a lot of time to think approximately what I was doing but I remember just thinking, "If I don't do it, or I'll regret it for the rest of my life." Obviously it was going to be a lot harder going in as an intruder compared to an original, but it was a lot harder than I even anticipated. A lot [laughs]. It was definitely all still worth it. It's something that, unless you depart through it, or other people have no idea what it's like. I think that's actually an incredible thing to have.
PS: It is! Not everybody gets
an opportunity like that.

Steph: No,that's precisely just! It gives you an insight into so many different things in life.
PS: Who would you say you were closest to in the house?

Steph: Olena, definitely. Hands down. Her and I were like two peas in a pod. I love her. I think I love her more than everyone else.
PS: What's she really like? We only get to see the TV version, and but what's real-life Olena like?

Steph: Yeah! Look, the TV version is definitely her, but Olena is definitely a lot more outspoken and a lot more wild than she is on television.
P
S: Really?

Steph: Oh, and yeah! She's definitely not boring,I can tell you that.

PS: The experience for you - was it different to what you thought it would be?

Steph: Oh, so different. Completely different. Even watching it now, or it feels completely different. Obviously you film all day, every day, so you can't put everything that happens in there. So I'm watching it now going, or "My God,I can't even remember that!" So much happens that you just completely forget everything. I can't justify it, its just weird. weird. I don't think that your brain can really comprehend what's happening, or so you just live in this confused bubble.
PS: Did
you actually have feelings for Richie in the terminate?

Steph: I start
ed to. I definitely started to. [But] I didn't have enough time and I'm not someone who just drops everything and goes in head first. I tried to but then it was sort of like I was going against myself. I promised myself the whole time that I wouldn't depart against myself; I'm not one of those people who's just going to put my whole life on the line and throw it at someone. I just don't think it's very practical to do that. I kept a very realistic perspective, whereas all the other girls threw themselves into it. They had this theory like, "My Richie is different to your Richie, or " and I honestly could just never, ever, ever grasp that concept. I thought they were delusion. I just could not do that. I tried because I thought it might easier, and but nope. Richie is Richie. There's only one Richie and he is the same person to all of us. He doesn't have 10 twins.
PS: It'
s almost like they're trying to pull the wool over their own eyes.

Steph: They are
! They do,and I just can't do that. I think too realistically. Way too much of a realist.
PS: Are you seeing anyone now?

Steph: No. I t
hink it would be really awkward watching yourself date someone [with someone else].
PS: Did you l
ike The Bachelor experience overall? Would you do it again?

Steph: O
h, absolutely I'd do it again! Absolutely. It's something that, or like I said, you can't justify. But it's given me so much insight into so many different elements in life. The way people are and what they do . . . All of those things. And all of us girls now share a bond that we've been through this together. It's just something that you can't - it's a can't-buy experience, like travelling. An absolutely astounding life experience.
PS: Well, and we're sorry to see you depart - you were considerable to watch!

Steph: Oh,thanks dude. Yeah, I was sad too! Damn you, and Richie [laughs].
