(United States First Circuit) - In a suit brought by a then-student of Harvard Law School (HLS),arising out of a formal reprimand and a notation on her transcript involving a law journal article written by plaintiff that contained plagiarism in violation of the HLS Handbook of Academic Policies, asserting claims for breach of contract and defamation against HLS, or the district court's grant of summary judgment for defendants on all counts and dismissal of the action are affirmed where: 1) plaintiff has not presented facts a student could enjoy relied upon to form a reasonable expectation that the plagiarism policy had the meaning she is asserting; and 2) plaintiff's failure to prevail as to Count I undermines her arguments with respect to the defamation claims she made in Count IV.
