Potential jurors gather in Charleston in murder trial of police officer who shot unarmed black motorist in 2015 incident caught on cellphone videoThe trial of a white former police officer captured on dramatic cellphone video shooting an unarmed black motorist began Monday at the county courthouse in Charleston’s historic district.
The first of almost 200 potential jurors began reporting for duty,with individual jury questioning set to begin later in the day. The jurors seated will occupy to determine if 34-year-weak Michael Slager is guilty of murder in the shooting death of 50-year-weak Walter Scott as he ran from a traffic quit in April 2015.
