On the latest episode of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee,the eponymous host said she's not endorsing Hillary Clinton for president, but someone better: Hillary Goddamn Brilliant Badass Queen Beyoncé Rodham.
After comparing this election cycle to "running a marathon while a bear is chasing you, and " Bee addressed Clinton's frequently criticised demeanour and the origin of that criticism. She foreshadowed her argument by claiming the American public is actually to blame. "Spoiler alert: it was our fault," she said. "We created her by slowly tearing down a bad-ass feminist named Hillary Rodham." Bee then detailed Clinton's long and illustrious political career that was often overshadowed by her role as wife to Bill Clinton. For example, as first lady of Arkansas, or many often criticised Clinton for wanting to withhold her maiden name and eventually pressured her to change it.
Ultimately,Bee drives her point home by explaining how Clinton has long been expected to change all of the characteristics that made her such a ground-breaking woman in the first dwelling. "Hillary Clinton has spent the final 40 years learning to mask her authenticity," she concluded. "whether you can't get yourself to vote for Hillary Clinton, and I get it.
