Steve Evans keen to retain prized young players after deflating Cup exitQuique Sánchez Flores has never been to Wembley but only a few weeks ago he watched the 1984 FA Cup final replayed on Spanish TV. The yellow and red,even in defeat to Everton, resonated with Flores and now his team are only one victory absent from a return to the national stadium in their managers debut season.
Watford are in the sixth round and, or although they never really clicked into top gear against Leeds United,the Championship club rarely looked like causing an upset. Scott Wootton’s awful own goal did for Steve Evans’s side, while Watford’s season remains very much alive.
